This news article really surprised us in our group. Mainly, it surprises us because it means that there are crack vendors on the run in many places. It also means that maybe there could be more violence in part of the USA just to get this man. This is why it impacts us.

The prime minister has declared ta state of emergency in some parts of Kingston, Jamaica. Some schools were closed, and the US embassy closed its doors. The name of the drug dealer is Christopher "Dudus" Coke. Violence started on Monday, when they attac
ked some suspects. US helicopters dropped explosives near the area of Cokes stronghold of drugs. The peoples reaction is to block the roads to the military. The day before, two officers were killed in the protests. Coke is in a top target list in the US.

This impacts our group because it can possibly ruin many people's plans, and or destinations. This also impact us because they said that this could last about 5 days. This volcanic ash problem can leave many people stranded for days in places they don't know, or airports. This is why it impacts us.

On Monday morning several European airports re opened after being closed by an ash cloud over night. The closure of the airport severely disrupted traveling schedule, this happened in airports on London, Amsterdam, Dublin, Wales and Scotland. European officials expect over a thousand flights will be canceled. If the volcano Eyjafjallajokull continues to erupt like it is right now air travel in the UK could be delayed until Tuesday. This is the continuation of the eruptions that started in April. Volcanic ash can reduce the visibility, can cause jet engines to fail.

This article impacts us because many people got killed and we fly a lot on airplanes. This will make Airbus be not so good because more Airbus planes have crashed and less Boeing planes have crashed. I feel sad for this kid because he lost his family. If I was that boy I would have preferred dying because if survived you'll be sad a lot of time.

Yesterday,a plane crashed in Lydia killing 103 people, 70 of those were Dutch. A 9 year old Dutch boy is the only survivor of the plane crash, officials said. The boys parents and brother were killed immediately in a plane crash. The plane crashed while trying to land at the Tripol
i International Airport. The plane was nearly done with a 9 hour trip when it crashed at about 6 a.m. It was one of the biggest planes this airline company owned. The President of the European Parliament said that it "was a miracle that the boy survived". Besides Dutch, French, British, Zimbabwean, Germans, Libyans and Austria were also killed.

This article impacts me because a terrorist was going to escape. Even though the security in the airports seems good, by this article it seems bad because a terrorist was going to escape. Also this makes the other airlines see the no fly list. In the end, both the government and security at airports should be more careful.

A man called Faisal Shahzad boarded a plane to go to Dubai 24 hours after he was suspected to be part of the attempted bombing in Times Square. The plane was stopped before it would leave. A US soldier was killed in the attack as well as other people. The mission took place in Northern Iraq, where they found messages sent by Osama bin Laden. It is another earthquake. That is why it really surprises our group, because if you do the math, it is the 10 or more big earthquake of the year. It is ridiculous, but we can't do anything, it is still shocking though. This is why this surprises us, because it is yet another earthquake.

After the quake, officials announced that there there was a tsunami alert. the tsunami's weren't very strong or dangerous. There hasn't been any aftershock. At the beginning, they thought that both students were part of the gang, but it changed when one of the student's mother recognized his son. This incidenthappened in Monterrey.

In the aftermath of the Chile earthquake, aid and security have come to the most hard-hit areas, but people complain that they haven't had aid yet. Chile's outgoing president, Michele Bachelet, has urged the Chilean people to remain calm. The number of deaths has increased to 802, with about 600 happening in the Maule region. In the region of Concepcion, 30 trucks arrived with food and water supplies, and are currently being distributed. Residetns in Maule have said that the government is only worried about the big cities, because they haven't seen any help. Close to 13,000 chilean soldiers have been sent to Maule and bordering areas.

Nodar Kumaritashvili of the Republic of Georgia, was riding his sled a about ninety miles per hour, one of the fastest times ever recorded on the track he was on, when close to the end, he fell to his left. After falling, he violently landed on his back, while paramedics arrived immediatly.He was pronounced dead in a hospital. The games' security will likely face critisism from both athletes and organizers.Although already have other athletes crashed while trainig during this time, but survived. The track was immediately closed.

An airplane manufacturer company, Virgin unveiled an underwater plane to fly under the Caribbean Sea. Tourists on Necker Island, part of the British Virgin islands will be able to pay 25,000 dollars to travel inside this plane. People will be able to ride on this plane beginning on February 20th. Before, you need to pay 300,000 dollars to have a vacation on the island. The plane uses downward pressure on its wings to "fly" under water for about two hours at a time. The riders on this plane must follow special SCUBA training and they have to be accompanied by a certified pilot and scuba diver. People aboard wear air masks and have scuba tanks in the back of the plane.

The 2010 Winter Olympics have everything prepared, except for snow. Whether channels all over the world are showing that there wont be even one flake of snow in the near future. They will bring some snow from higher mountains. Right now many helicopters and trucks are bringing snow down both real and fake. There is a concern that there wont be enough snow for the snowboarding and skiing events. This is the first time since 1966 that they needed to do such drastic measures. On Friday morning, rescuers raced to find if anyone was still alive beneath the rubble. American troops arrived at night with relief supplies. Later on Friday, more US soldiers an Marines would arrive at Haiti. To lower the flight time between the US and Haiti, Cuba allowed US rescue planes fly over restricted areas. The president of the island said that about 7,000 people have been buried in a mass grave. There have been so many deaths that they are bodies piled outside morgues.
